ARTERY26 Conference: Split (Croatia)
24 & 25 September 2026
TRAINING School: Split (Croatia)
23 September 2026
Welcome
Welcome
Dear colleague,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the University of Split School of Medicine, Croatia, for ARTERY26.
Shaping the future of vascular aging, the 26th ARTERY Conference, “Innovations in Vascular Aging,” showcases breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, real-world evidence, and precision vascular science. From proteomics and epigenetic ageing clocks to arterial stiffness as both a marker and therapeutic target, and vascular ageing in diabetes, the programme connects innovation with clinical impact. In parallel, the conference continues to build on its strong foundations, covering all aspects of arterial structure, haemodynamics, and function, with particular emphasis on their clinical implications for the treatment of arterial diseases.
The programme places strong emphasis on critical appraisal and open discussion, encouraging reflection and dedicated discussion at the end of each session. It also features dedicated sessions addressing key controversies in the field, including discussions aligned with major driver of the circulation, as well as an Artery Open Working Group session focused on future directions and opportunities for collaboration.
All disciplines contributing to both basic and clinical vascular science are represented, including researchers, clinicians – such as vascular specialists, cardiologists, nephrologists, and diabetologists —and industry experts working in imaging, bioengineering, physiology, epidemiology, pharmacology, therapeutics, preventive strategies, and digital innovation.
As always, the conference provides an excellent opportunity to establish new collaborations and connect with a highly engaged, knowledgeable, and diverse international community. Colleagues from our sister society, ISVH, as well as representatives of the highly active and EU-networked Croatian initiative, the Hypertension League – part of the local organizing committee – will contribute to the scientific programme.
Participants will have numerous opportunities to network throughout the meeting, particularly during refreshment breaks, poster sessions, and dedicated social networking events. The Training School 2026 —building on the success of ARTERY26 – will precede the conference and is designed to stimulate research engagement and support the development of practical skills, with contributions from leading technical partners.
We aim to create a stimulating and welcoming scientific environment where you can reconnect with colleagues, establish new collaborations, and build lasting professional relationships – all set in the inspiring surroundings of Split, a historic city once home to the Roman emperor Diocletian, and ideally located for exploring the stunning Adriatic islands, nearby river and national park, and several UNESCO World Heritage cities that showcase the rich cultural and natural heritage of the region.
Split is very well connected, with flights to over 70 direct destinations in around 25 countries during the summer schedule, including low-cost options. The airport is just a 30-minute drive from the venue – a modern School of Medicine center located next to the hospital, contributing its expertise to supporting regional medical research, and just a short walk from the city’s most famous beach.
In addition to excellent scientific content, we will provide a vibrant social experience, including a rooftop party in the city center for young investigators and their colleagues, offering stunning views, followed by a special conference dinner.
Your participation directly supports ARTERY’s charitable and educational goals and we thank you for this.
On behalf of the ARTERY Executive Committee and ARTERY26 Local Organizing Committee, we look forward to welcoming you in Split.

Split: Advantages and possibilities
ACCOMMODATION DURING ARTERY26
We were particularly mindful of keeping costs manageable for all participants, especially students and early-career researchers. As Split does not have many large hotels—and those available can be relatively expensive or offer limited capacity—we have pre-booked a selection of affordable rooms in university accommodation typically used for students, postdoctoral researchers, and visiting professors. The accommodation is located approximately 10 minutes away. Please book as soon as possible, as rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, Split offers many small hotels to explore, as well as a wide range of private apartments, which are generally affordable and provide flexible options for attendees who prefer alternative lodging.
