Artery Society and VascAgeNet International Training School 23 September 2026

The Artery Society and VascAgeNet International Training School will be offered again this year in Split.

The Training School offers hands-on experience with a range of established and cutting-edge devices for assessing arterial structure and function, alongside interactive sessions with industry partners to explore real- world applications, including artefact recognition and diagnostic case evaluation. The programme is aligned with the needs and interests identified in a recent survey of Artery members and young investigators (January 2026).

GOALS:

  • Provide small-group, hands-on experience with established and emerging methods for assessing vascular function and arterial ageing.
  • Strengthen understanding of measurement principles, standardised protocols, measurement quality, common artefacts and interpretation.
  • Explore the methodological strengths, limitations and potential clinical utility of the technologies used during the practical sessions.
  • Link hands-on measurements to published evidence through expert-led journal-club discussion and critical appraisal.
  • Encourage scientific exchange, discussion and networking between trainees, ARTERY faculty and scientists working with the technologies.
